The Nutcracker

Overview

Our timeless production of The Nutcracker is one of the crown jewels of the Stone Dance Academy experience! Unlike our year-end recital where all dancers participate, this show is optional and an “audition only” performance. Dancers rehearse on Saturday’s the weekend after Labor Day until the show in December. All cast members are required to attend weekly rehearsals, our Ballet & BBQ fundraising event, and the Winter Park Parade. The Artistic Director goes over a full list of requirements at our parent meeting in the Summer. Auditions are held at the end of Spring so if you’re interested in joining this amazing cast of dancers, please email us or keep an eye out for our newsletters indicating the audition date! Dancers must be at least 7 years old by August 1st and have 1 year of ballet training to audition. Additionally, dancers must be enrolled in Ballet during the entire Fall and Spring dance season to be included in the production.
